Río Grande Review invites you to send your works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, literary criticism, and visual pieces for the Spring 2014 edition. For this issue, the journal will be dedicated to children’s and Young Adult Literature. Our Dossier will feature stories and poems with a single vowel.
Río Grande Review is published each semester by the University of Texas at El Paso's Department of Creative Writing. The deadline for submission is March 20, 2014. Send your work to rgreditors@gmail.com.
Guidelines
We accept works in Spanish and/or English, regardless of the nationality of the author.
We accept literary material of all kinds: fiction, poetry, essay, non-fiction, translations, flash-fiction, memoir, and unedited interviews. We would like to give an opportunity to all artistic and cultural manifestations related to childhood and youth.
We accept visual art: photography, drawings, paintings, experimental texts, visual poetry, etc. Animations will naturally be considered for the online edition.
We only accept material by email: rgreditors@gmail.com
For proper processing of submissions, the email should include the following. In the subject line, place the name of the author, the appropriate genre or platform of the material, and the word "submission". In the body of the email, include a brief biography, no longer than 8 lines, of the most relevant information regarding the author.
Literary works should be in Word or PDF, Times New Roman 12 point font. For non-fiction and other works that call for citations, the author should use APA format. We will not accept more than 6 pages by a single author (including poetry, short stories, essay, ect.).
Visual works should be 300 dpi JPEG or MPG. If the the images are taken for other publications, rights must be obtained.
Three weeks after the submission deadline, you may consult our Facebook page regarding your acceptance where we will place our selected authors and works.
